2009 NZDG Match Play Championships Dec 5 & 6 Pukete Farm Park Hamilton

TD Josh Smith and the Hamilton Hornets Disc Golf Club ran the 2009 NZDG Match Play event in the same park they hosted the NZ Champs earlier in the year. It’s a great venue for Disc Golf, testing but not too hard to get around, ideal for Match Play.

With Marty de Haas at 9 and Bruno Whale at 12 pulling out Baz Keene and Senior GM Nigel Barnwell at 17 & 18 made the field, tough ask for Nigel against Simon Feasey in the opening match.

There were a few surprises but when it came to the finals it was the country's number one player Simon Feasey playing the number 3 seed Mario Cerniar in the men’s event and Ming Menzies against nemesis and friend Karoline Jonsson in the Woman’s final.

Congratulations to Simon and Ming for taking out the 2009 NZDG Match Play titles..
