As another year of the NZDG Tour comes to an end the battle for a top 16 invite to compete in this prestigious event is becoming harder and harder.
Congratulations to all those who made it, from Simon Feasey at #1 through to Marty deHaas at 17 .. [sneaking in with Senior Grandmaster Nigel Barnwell not making the players meeting on the Saturday morning]. Also with Woman’s Disc Golf in New Zealand on the rise it was great to have some ding-dong battles at the top end of their game as well.
Sadly our photographer picked the wrong pairs to follow round so our pictorial coverage is limited .. BUT .. Watch this space .. We are making a half hour programme out of the weekend for Sky Television and have some fantastic footage in the can.. that’s now moving into the post production phase.
We should have broadcast dates soon so we’ll keep you informed as to when you can see it on the big screen, should be around Waitangi weekend. This is a very exciting leap forward for our sport.
Thanks to Marty and Nigel Hailstone and company for designing and installing a testing course that saw some surprises, and I’m pleased to note that the first event involving our new club house [Parr Homestead] was a huge success. Now let’s work on getting 18 user friendly art installations scattered around the park.
